Taraba Entertainment Industry Meets Commissioner of Police, As He Endorses TSEI

Jalingo – The EXCOS of the Taraba State Entertainment Industry (TSEI) met with the Commissioner of Police on Wednesday, 10 January 2018.

The entertainers paid an introductory visit to the Commissioner, in order to create a close relationship with the security personnels in the State. The EXCOS who were led by the President of the Industry, Mr. Jegs Mailafia, met the commissioner of Police and the President told the CP that the essence of the visit was to formally introduce the Industry to him as the supreme body that overseas Entertainment and Entertainers in the state and also asked for the support of the Police, he went further by saying that entertainment helps in reducing crime since it engages the youth in constructive things using their ability and talent.

Mailafia also urged the Commissioner of Police to partner with the Industry and to help them with security matters and sometimes, shows last till late in the night, so there’s a need for Entertainers – Police relationship.

In a swift reply, the Commissioner of Police, CP. David A. Akinremi thanked the Entertainers for coming to visit him, he promised to support TSEI in the best of his abilities and with his men when such needs arises.

“When it comes to finances, you won’t get much from us, but when it comes to security of lives and property we are your partners as long as entertainment is concerned in Taraba State. Any form of misconduct by the Entertainers or even men of the Force should be reported to him. “You know the role entertainment has played in this country, so we need you to excel too”.

“Don’t forget to call on us (Police) and myself in person whenever there’s a challenge, and we will assist you.
